Whether you need new clothes, want to go out to eat, or need a plumber, utilizing the retail, dining and professional services Sherman offers will help keep our local economy strong. How? First, spending money at a local business to allows them to pay their employees who, in turn, spend money here. Hopefully, that local business will also use local suppliers, another way to keep our money in Sherman.

Second, with each “sale” made, whether it’s retail, dining or professional services, the city of Sherman will receive the sales tax revenue. This allows our local government to keep doing its job well. Sherman’s parks will stay beautiful and continue to expand; the upkeep of our roads, neighborhoods and utilities will remain constant; and Sherman’s emergency services and law enforcement will continue to stay vigilant, able to do their jobs effectively and uninterrupted by budget concerns.

 

Need another reason to “Simply Shop Sherman?” Well, we’ve got one, and this is the fun part! We want to reward you for spending money locally! Here’s how it works:

First, pick up a Simply Shop Sherman Rewards card at the Sherman Chamber and check out the list of participating businesses on this website. Participating businesses will also have a sticker or sign at their store/restaurant/office that matches the Simply Shop Sherman logo.

Second, spend money at a local business! Each time you go to a Simply Shop Sherman participating business, a sticker will be added to your card for purchasing goods or services there.

Then, once you’ve collected five stickers, you can drop off your card at a participating business or at the Chamber, and the card will be entered into a monthly drawing for $100 gift certificate or more! The winners will be announced in the Herald Democrat. You’re not limited to the amount of cards you can enter into each drawing; so as long as you’re shopping locally, you can enter as many cards as you earn.
